When we select our seedlings, the whole
plant is important in the equation. In the
limited garden space down in Florida,
flowers are culled for the most minute
flaws. Maybe it didn't open perfectly one
day-out. Maybe it spotted after a rain- out.
Maybe it faded in a 90 degree day- out.
There are a lot of nice purple toothy
daylilies out there but NONE are as good
with the whole package- Stark, white
ornate teeth, luscious saturated sun and
rain-fast brandywine pigmentation on the
petals and sepals, a flower that opens
perfectly every day, rain or shine, and a
BEAUTIFUL face, striking in the garden.
Spacecoast Night Mistress is accented by
an amethyst watermark and a startling
green throat. The impact of this strong
scaped, beautiful, perfectly gleaming
toothy-edged powerhouse which charges
out of the gate blooming early to
midseason, is unequaled in the garden.
